Warp Records?
er...no it was actually warped, there was a phase when Vinyl quality control went to pieces in the UK
I remember it well. I suspect it was done to get people to move over to CD. At one point I had to take an album back 5 times because the pressing was so poor. Eventually I got a refund.

Tangerine Dream is the legendary German progressive electro rock band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The iconic group has sold millions of albums and built legions of fans around the world. March 29th 2010 will see the re-issue on vinyl LP of two of the band's classic recordings from their Virgin years: 'Phaedra' and 'Rubycon'.
Both albums are pressed on heavyweight 180gm Vinyl and feature Remastered Audio and Gatefold Sleeves with faithfully Restored Artwork. These will probably be initial pressing only, and once their gone, their gone!
In 2010, to mark the 35th anniversary of that classic show Tangerine Dream are once again playing to a sold out Royal Albert Hall on 1st April, with these classic reissues celebrating this anniversary.
TANGERINE DREAM: PHAEDRA (Ltd Edition 180GM Vinyl LP/1995 Digital Remaster/Gate-Fold Sleeve - Stock # 1294097) LP £16.99
Originally released in 1974, 'Phaedra' (a title which derives from Greek mythology) was Tangerine Dream's first release for Virgin Records. The album peaked in the UK top 20 albums chart at number 15, remaining in the charts for 15 weeks. 'Phaedra' has been credited as "one of the most important, artistic, and exciting works in the history of electronic music" (allmusic.com). It was on this album that the Moog sequencer was used for the first time on a rock & pop record, which is one of the many reasons why, since it's initial release, 'Phaedra' has also been described as having "passed into the lexicon of electronic music as a state-of-the-art showcase of embryonic music technology coupled with fearless innovation" (Prendergast, 1984).
Track List - Side 1:
01. Phaedra
Track List - Side 2:

TANGERINE DREAM: RUBYCON (Ltd Edition 180GM Vinyl LP/1995 Digital Remaster/Gate-Fold Sleeve - Stock # 1294097) LP £16.99

Thanks for the info though, saved me some money...
yes, but even a vinyl mastered from a digital copy will sound superduper
In all likelihood this move by EMI seals it that there will never ever be fresh vinyl pressings from the original analog master tapes again. I think that's very unfortunate.
They could have given the job to experts like Classic Records, Pure Pleasure Records or Speakers Corner. Those companies know how to do vinyl right. But no, EMI does it the cheap way: "Tangerine Dream? Oh yes wait a minute, we already spent some money on them in 1995, right? Yeah let's use those remasters. They're neither the Beatles nor Kraftwerk, so that must suffice. No point in spending resources on niche artists." That's probably what happened, and I refuse to buy nicely packaged cr*p...

I have said so before , but someone needs to get the original master tapes, get them to one of the top mastering facilities and press some real analog masterpieces. Only hard $$$ will do this.

Yes but how likely could it happen that EMI gives out a license to another company when they want to sell their own batch of TD vinyl?
Btw. judging from my vinyl copy of Kate Bush's Aerial, EMI uses a pressing plant that normally specialises on moulding Easter Bunnies and Santa Clauses.
