All you people slagging off Mini-Disc obviously never used one, let alone sell the cream of the medium - a TEAC reference machine. Once Sony got the digital compression right the format worked a treat and would have been great in-car.
Metal cassettes were fine, but even CrO2 ones lost treble over the years and more than a few playings (even on a Nak - and I've owned seven of the beggars over the years to my knowledge) will shave quiet sounds away...
