Ive never checked out his stuff. If i'm a fan of 80s TD and not Klause Schulze, is there anything I would like of Ashras ?

Try "A New Age of Earth" its a classic then go onto the excellent "Blackouts" and then "Correlations" which has a very interesting cover
and take it from there.........Three Gems IMHO
"Midnight on Mars" from Blackouts really does it for me,i love this track

His? I take it you mean the group that became one man...that eventually became a group: ie Ash Ra Tempel...became Ashra (which shrunk down to just Manuel Gottsching), and more recently he got other players in for live and studio work.
I've recommend Blackouts from their Virgin years, but you might think it's a bit lightweight, either that or go for the orginal group (ART) and go for their self titled Krautrock master piece, with two 'side long' tracks.

hmmm I think ill be seeing what itunes has
I was a bit confused by who was in it and if it was one guy or not anymore ??

See if you can find the compilation 'Sun Rain' that roughly gives you an idea what they were like on the Virgin label, tuneful...eventually going towards a more throwaway style...and then going into a more sequencer/dance/experimental dirrection more recently

Gottsching and Hoenigs album would be more your cup of tea I think!

Don't forget "Walkin' The Desert" either, lovely!!!
I've seen DEEPER DISTANCE too, which is one of my favourite tracks (and era) slightly zapped up with some subtle percussion...
Belle Alliance sums up his Virgin era beautifully, with bits of each style.
Manuel Gottsching's another genius IMO!
