I would have to go for Epsilon in Malaysian Pale as it has my favorite EF track of all time the sublime "Maroubra Bay" But they ALL have their bits of Magic

How about you

epsilon in malaysian pale, for me it stands alone in EFs solo output, serene, original, captivating and unearthly, the music is surrealism made real....it evokes so many thoughts and imagery.



closely followed by aqua, stuntman, macula and pinnacles

I suppose if you had to nail me down to just one, I would have to pick Ages. I simply love Metropolis and Icarus, two absolutely sublime works IMHO. I also enjoy the percussion work on Pizarro and Atahualpa. Of course, the rest of Edgar's solo works are well worth listening to as well. Strangely, though, I would rank Epsilon last on my list. Maybe I should give it a listen again. Marouba Bay, as I recall, is pretty a darn good track.

ahem....BM rates EIMP so highly that it may well be underated by BM.....andy...I know you differ in thy opinion. (that I respect)...but EIMP is so good that BM is going to listen to it as soon as poss when he crashes thru his front door 2nte (note TXT language...BM is down with the homies)

I add here that AGES (the double LP original) is also immense (if a little meandering and de focussed.....), tropic of carpricorn: SOOPERB

Pinnacles for me

My favourite is Ages. It's a very sparse and metallic album but its chock full of great ideas and sounds. Despite it's very electronic sound it is still able to be very moving in parts, for example check out the piano on Tropic of Capricorn.

Having said that his other releases aren't that far behind, in fact there all worth checking out.

Stuntman and the rereleased Ages, in equal measure.

Still pondering this one.

It has to be "Epsilon" for me too. I have both the Virgin LP (with the beautiful gatefold sleeve) and the Eastgate re-recording on CD. Although I prefer the original, I think this is the best of EF's re-recordings of his solo material.

Id have to say Pinnacles or Dalinetopia. Although the remixed stuff on solo 74 - 79 was rather good too!.

Stuntman just ahead of Epsilon.
