Tangerine Dream

Tangerine Dream has annonced that the first album of the Quantum year will be recorded this month, with the support of Peter Bauman !!.

Yes, that's good news !

But as this will be a "special tribute album" (quotation from the newsletter), it doesn't mean there will be other studio albums after this one... At this point, we really don't know.

As they have also said that the TDOC will continue and people can sign up for new memberships, then I wouild hope that this means there will be other things to look forward to beyond the 'tribute' album and concerts. I hope so anyway!!

I am SO looking forward to this. Mala Kunia was a fantastic release, some of my favorite TD work in quite a while (and that's saying a lot considering most TD releases over the past few years have been stellar). I thought Ulrich's contribution to the overall vibe truly outstanding.

One interesting thing about that album however was it seemed like Ulrich and Edgar collaborated on a few of the early tracks, and then the Thorsten track at the end was its own sound. So now I'm curious to hear what an Ulrich/Thorsten team-up might sound like. (Although I suspect Edgar already had some recordings in the works that they could incorporate into the compositions.)

I'm also looking forward to this album. The result could be very very good !
