What are the 3 or 4 tracks called that are you asking about?

Pergamon, Logos, Desert Dream

It is because:

Pergamon Sphere is credited to JS as the perfomer on TD plays TD .
EF is credited as the re-recorder in the Tangents Boxset.

Logos Blue is credited to RW as the perfomer on TD plays TD.
EF is credited as the re-recorder in the Tangents Boxset.

Desert T. Dream is credited to RW as the perfomer on TD plays TD .
EF is credited as the re-recorder in the Tangents Boxset.

But the Versions are nearly the same.
So the MIDI-Sequences are the same, so nothing is newly "performed" then.

To say nothing.... is correct regarding Pergamon Sphere, Logos Blue and Desert T. Dream. However, there are eleven other tracks on 'TD plays TD' that are new.

To me this is a bit of a mixed bag some tracks are okay. Especially JS & PH tracks
I don't see the point of Zlatko's reworking of Beach theme from Theif.
IMHO i never regarded him as a member of TD anyway.

I don't know about anyone else but this type of album doesn't do anything for me.

I would sooner have more vault offerings

For the last hour I've been enjoying most of it. The best track is playing right now..... Logos Velvet and it is wonderfully wonderful, IMHO.

Regarding the above list....

I had to stop at the comments on track #1 and not read any further...

This is NOT the same as the 1990 Mandala version.

Couldn't read on. :shock:

So, this CD doesn't really contain any new "performed" Versiosns.
Only a recycling-Sampler, like Tangents, I-Box or Roots Collection.
You are incorrect , for example, Logos Velvet is very different to the one on Tangents. Have you listened to the album?

I don't dislike the album but i have to question what does this album add the TD's musical heritage.
How many versions of Phaedra do we need ?

More Vault or Bootleg recordings please (no bootmoon) would go down a lot better

Hello,

I really think that
- Logos blue, Pergamon Sphere and Desert T Dream ARE (a few remastering process excepted) the versions from Tangent ... which by the way were very nice versions (and were really re-recordings, but from more than 10 years ago). So it's nice - but mainly for those who don't already own Tangent - to hear those versions on a single CD;
- it's also hard to deny that the credits from those three tracks (only credited to Froese in Tangent) are kind of strange (I remember though that Radephul and Schmoelling were in the 'thank you' section from Tangent : so perhaps Froese was then the only one credited for contractual reasons with Virgin);
- Ride on the ray seems to be the Tempodrom 2006 live version (not sure 100% though);
- some other tracks from TD plays TD are undoubtly more 'aditionally recorded' (aka bananarama) than 're-recorded' tracks (and surely not everything was 'newly recorded in 2006' as stated in the booklet);
- the TQ tracks are beautiful, to say the least...

So I really love most of the old an new music from Edgar and TD, but I also would be pleased with exact information over their (many) products...

My list from above is gone, better say corrected. So, I couldn't be that wrong.

This is what I said in the post, that was corrected by the admins
I wouldn't want to agree with you because then we would both be wrong. :wink:
