Can't ever remember an easy relaxed journey to a TD gig. First TD gig I ever saw was in Manchester in 1980 and we had to run through torrential rain to make the show.har wrote:Good story Chris. Cheers.
I also had a horrendous journey down. Only just made it !!
Well worth the effort though.
Thanks.redziller wrote:Very nicely put Chris
But, the sound quality was appalling near the front for the first half, fans have been saying it over at Tadream aswell. The fact that the music was so good in spite of it makes me feel much better about it though.Chris Monk wrote:Sound wise the show is a little muddy in parts with bass notes dominating. To be honest though this is a fairly minor problem and only becomes significant for a short time at the start of Long Island Sunset.
Well said, spot onTDludo wrote:For what it's worth, some impressions about the Lowry concert...
As already said, the main problem was the sound balance : sometimes, the low frequencies from the keyboards were nearly hiding everything else (and caused uncomfortable vibrations)...
I thought the track list was quite surprising, with many tracks played live for the first time (from Island of the Fey and the new CDs)... and other tracks already played too many times (in my opinion). But globally interesting and we had very nice encores !
Hoshiko's violin was a great add to the music (when not masked by the keyboards) and Bernhard's guitar sounded terrific.
I liked the lightnings : simple but with many variations in colours and effects.
Regarding the meet and greet with the band... well, I guess it replaced the "merch scrum" ! But it's very nice to have the opportunity to say a few words to them...
So it was globally a great experience, and it's always a pleasure to discuss with TD fans (some discussions were quite mad). Thanks, guys !
Just expressing my opinion. Haven't read Tadream for many years.Desert_Voyager wrote:But, the sound quality was appalling near the front for the first half, fans have been saying it over at Tadream aswell. Andreas Muller again. He's done sterling work for TD over the last few years.TDludo wrote:I really like this picture !T4N63R1N3 DR34M wrote:from a post on earlier in this thread...It is Brian May's friend, Armenian Astrophysicist Garik Israelian, who is the organiser of the Starmus Festival.
