My mum tells me that TD got a mention in "Exit Music" a Rebus tale by ian Rankin, so, by the power of google

http://www.cbc.ca/arts/books/rankin.html
Q: Pop music seems to be one of the few consolations in Rebus’s life. How big a part does music play in the creation of your books?

A: I’ve always got music on when I write, usually instrumental music — jazz or some instrumental rock. Exit Music was written with quite a lot of Tangerine Dream, the German synth band, playing in the background. Like a lot of crime writers, I’m a frustrated rock star. I would have much rather been in a rock band — a successful rock band. When I was 19, I was in a punk band for six months. But I think I got it out of my system. But I love hi-fi, I love compact discs, I love music.
imho

I am now reading the second part of Lyonesse from Jack Vance. He was a fine writer in his best years. Pity that he is now too old to write. Hmm, or even worse, is he still amongst us. :?:

Come Together - John Lennon in his time -Jon Wiener
Got this at the local markets for $1. Not a bad read actually examines Lennon's radicalism, the author makes some really interesting insights into Lennon's politics(or lack of)

Seems amazing that all this could have happened...starting to seem like a long time ago now.

Most of the times I read psychological books and esoteric books in which I find a lot of awareness. At the moment I am reading a book of Deepak Chopra. A real affirmation to what I myself have discovered in nearly 36 years that I walk on this planet. Eye openers. It is a good book to listen TD with ..

Just started to read "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac again. Last time I read that was about twenty years ago. Love this book one of my favourites. I am a huge Kerouac fan but sadly he seems to be almost forgotten today. :(

Should have known it was a good read when it got a bad review in Classic Rock. Must get a copy.
