If you had to pick one album only and one track only...

Post by TangFanIRL »

Hypothetical situation - you are going to live on a desert island and you can only take one TD album with you to listen to for the rest of your days! Which would it be? Further limitation - you can only take one TD track with you, what would it be? And why!? ;-)

My answers? Easy!:

Album - Poland
Track - Song Of The Whale (Part Two)
Why? Because Poland has so much good things in there! Similarly SOTW Pt II as a single track has so many different elements (e.g. beautiful piano intro, slow build up, creamy melodies, killer guitar work, cool percussive elements and dreamy ending)!

So, what would yours be??? ;-)

Blimey I thought I was limiting with the "three" on your desert island a while back

Good subject for a thread.

Album - Would have to be Force Majeure...........first one I bought (although had heard snippets of Phaedra and Ricochet) and totally blew me away.........still does.

Track - I will have to check for the longest one  but will probably be one of the ZEIT trax

I'm with Har on this one - for the album anyway. Has to be
the mighty Force Majeure - the first TD album I bought. Without hearing a single note of their works. 8) Just bought it coz a mate said he'd got some of their stuff (he has similar musical taste to me). It was the clear vinyl version and I only bought it because I thought "if I don't like it, I'll just sell it, coz it will be a collector's item".

I still have it, along with pretty much everything else TD have released....
As for a track...I'd have to fantastic playing a bit and go for Logos..CD version just coz I class it as one track............ :)

For me it would be "Stratosfear". It has always been my favourite album.

I honestly don't think I could choose,
You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink...but if you get it to float's on it's back then you've got something...

Dying for your music, that's something Edgar would approve of, music is far too precious to treated any less seriously. Get a gun and I'll have a think about it Conrad ;)
