On Encore many of the Longer music by tangerine dream tracks were originally conceived movements.

Sadly very few CD players ahve the index function Peter mentions above. My sony sacd player does and it's quite handy while listening to Klaus Schulze 70 odd minute long tracks as the index numbers make it easier to spot the name of the part being played. I suppose appart for a lot of long classical peices this function isn't really used that much but..Logos, White Eagle, Encore and Hyperborea do have the index nos. encoded on them.

I also had a Sony CD player with the index function. It could have been a very useful feature if more widely taken advantage of. I suspect most classical CDs were indexed in some way (any disc with more than one symphony or conerto with movements would benefit from this).

if it wasn't for the trees and leaves, encore would be the greatest live td album

That reminds me I haven't played Encore for ages...I used to like it a lot, but parts were showing their age last time I gave it a spin

boom boom! to be honest I never liked Ages that much, but I know it's some fans favourite album from Edgar
