I reckon the Travelodge Westend is probably the most
reasonable/convenient place to kip after the gig.

Remember , this is Edinburgh

Some hoteliers will ask on your arrival: "You will have had yer tea then?"

Another hotel near Lothian road:
A short walk.

Novotel: Hotel Novotel Edinburgh Centre.
I see it's going for 85GBP, it's relatively new, not a flea pit.

It has changed hands recently & is no longer of that persuasion. If it is still open at all?

Gave me a bit of a start n'all!

A fair number of women did IME. It was kind of seen as a "safe" pub by quite a few people, both in & out of the community.

One of my mates was a regular so I saw the inside of it a few times when I was down visiting. Got propositioned as well but never had anything other than a good natured apology when I politely declined. :)

why dont people look to share rooms, not beds obviously but it could cut costs for people going to both gigs.

This hotel looks very reasonable:

http://www.activehotels.com/hotel/broch ... page%253D3

It has a good independent ratings mark and is close to the venue.

As I write this there is one twin room available at the special rate of
£76.00.

Nice one Ed, I've still no idea which one I'll choose, but I get the feeling I'll have to do it soon

Last time I tried to book in there, they took my booking at £85, then tried to gazump me up to @£400.

They were also a bit too slow at recrediting my card when I told them where to shove it!

Otherwise, if you can get a solid booking it is superbly placed on the Grassmarket (minutes away) with some good pubs right over the road! :)

Just a few minutes (west of) Haymarket railway station.
It's in a quiet street.

A casual 15-20 mins walk to Lothian road.

Bookable on the internet

Hope it helps..
