But I thought Edgar is and always has been the band leader and now manager, so why wouldn't he have got his way?

well the group often said in 1974-1977 that they didn't have a leader as such. I think Edgar's only officially been their manager since Martin K left, unless somebody can correct me here. Having said that, I agree Peter, TD has always been Edgar's band in that he probably had the final word about their musical direction.

Having been there since the start in 1967 i and im sure many other's see/have seen Edgar as the TD main man,41 years on my view has not changed. A Tangerine Dream without Edgar Froese is like a tangerine with no inner.......useless

I agree mate. I know others might not, but IMHO to say anything else it to totally misunderstand Edgar's character

Seeing as we're doing silly posts....I'm sure I heard a note at the last TD gig when no one seemed to actually play it. It totally spoiled the profound sense of freeform introspection that 90 minutes of music had guided me through. My ambient knowledge of time and place was ruined, and all form of sensing sound as experience was destroyed. I want me money back.

Next week - Deadly Care, the new Ricochet?

Actually, there is a picture of the Cleveland 1998 concert rehearsal*. Jerome is stage left and Edgar is on the middle. However, I didn't think Jerome took part in the gigs this early.

Didn't he get hit with something once, was it a bottle or was it rotten tomatoes? Can't remember. Perhaps he sat centre stage back then and it frightend him to the left for life!!!

Personally I think in future there will be a moment.
ie was there no Pink Floyd when Syd Barret left, or Roger Waters ?
Maybe at present there is no Pink Floyd anymore now Richard Wright has left and is now playing the real "Great Gig In The Sky".

At this moment I don't wanna think if there are no Linda, Iris, Thorsten, Bernhard, Edgar, Bianca and others behind the scenes. They make a great couple together.

Let us save those thoughts for the future, far far away.

grtz, Peter
