totally agree batman

Bought this as a three CD "picture disc" set along with Lamb lies Down . Many many hours of listening.
For me the best they ever made. Am dying to hear this one on dvd-audio.
actually hans I see I have "lamb" as no3 in the Har Genesis chart. The more I think about it, it should really be number 1............possibly

I'm so tempted by this. Can't make my mind up whether to get it or not. It's on for a fairly reasonable price and comes with a documentary. It's juct a shame that Hackett and Gabriel weren't involved.

Impressive show Epsilon. Gig started well with the Duke and Seconds Out stuff. Obviously thereafter edited to get " THE HITS " in for the TV audience.

Have to say Phil Collins live vocal performance and percussion was very impressive. Daryl Steurmer's a no bad guitarist also.

I agree Stuermer is a decent guitarist but when Hackett left i lost it with Genesis, but i also admit they are a fantastic bunch of musicians.

"Seconds Out" IMHO was the last Great Genesis album.

Watched the Genesis in Rome thing on TV last night and have to say that I found it fairly dull. They did play a lot of my favourite tracks but they just didn't appeal to me. Amazing crowd though, the Radio Times says it was 500,000 strong, and Darryl Streumer played a pretty tasty solo.

I preferred the Dave Gilmour concert at the Albert Hall on BBC4. Some great playing from Dave, and none Parry played an awesome sax solo at the end of Shine on you Crazy Diamond.

I fell asleep after the first 10 minutes , after switching over from the equally boring film Into the Blue !

Good question BM. I used to love Genesis. Trick of the Tail was an album my girlfriend and I used to carry around with us. Spent many a happy hour, with my tongue down my girlfriend’s throat, dancing to “Entangled”. They wrote some great and interesting music which, more importantly, women could get into.

But then sadly Gabriel and then Hackett left. The music, for me, became less interesting although I have to say they still continued to write some great stuff, Domino and Mama for example. Last night on the TV they played some of my favourite stuff but have to say that it just didn’t appeal to me. The playing was pretty good and the stage set was awesome yet it failed to get me even mildly excited.

Can’t explain it at all. May be it was because I was tired (not likely since I loved the set played by Dave Gilmour later in the night) or because it was a truncated set, I’m sure the original concert wasn’t 60 minutes long.

NP Genesis - Trick of the Tail.

Genesis with Gabriel were an absolute class act. BM Surely you must like lamb lies down :!:

Seconds Out is my favourite Genesis even with Mr Collins. I do like Then there were three and Duke, after that I think they definitely sold out to commercialism. Those live way we walk albums were c.rap.

They were interviewed on the BBC breakfast show last week and were hinting that they would possibly be interested in touring with Peter Gabriel doing Lamb Lies Down   Blimey.
