I think that Nick Mason has played in the Roger Water's Band so it's mainly down to Dave Gilmour. I can fully understand him not wanting to do The Wall.

Nick Mason played on the last RW show at Earls Court so its possible. Gilmour has said enough times that he never really liked or enjoyed The Wall so highly unlikely he will have any input. Not a fan of this album myself either apart from 3 or 4 tracks

I love Floyd, up to Animals that is, with particular love for Piper, Meddle and WYWH

The Wall though is a Folly

there is the architectural folly, from a distance it looks interesting.....get closer you realise its a f@ke, a hollow gesture to ego and not very interesting. The Wall is a musical version of that, always was always will be imho, just huge pretension masking nothing of anything genuinely interesting, the musical message is of its time and tainted by post punk poseurism.....

dont get bent out of shape, just my opinion

PS: I may well be attending next ear at 02 :D :D

I must say the last RW concerts where he peformed DSTM in full was superb and I had really crappy seats. It was a shame none were filmed fo DVD as it would have been worth getting.

I am fan of RW but my dislike for The Wall means I will miss these concerts

Favourite PF abum is Dark Side of the Moon

Favourite song is Echoes. First really got into Pink Foyd when I watched Live at Pompeii.

While I love the track Echoes, Meddle is not my favourite PF album because it is not consistent, and there are at least two tracks on Meddle that I really am not fond of, e.g.: San Tropez & Seamus.

DSoTM on the otherhand flows brilliantly like one large track. While it is more commercialised with the sax and female singing (compared toprevious works) it has many brilliant moments.

Meddle is still my favorite but every album runs it close...I remember first playing WYWH in front of my dad who was not a rock music fan at all and his words were "that is fantastic" and "play it again" about the title track,i think floyd appealled to lovers of many different musical genres.... truly fantastic band.

WYWH and Animals totally blew me away when I heard them for the first time as a teenager. Totally magnificent. They still do every time I put them on. Timeless classics.

Then The Wall happened and I lost interest in Floyd for a bit.

Fortunately I started rediscovering the brilliant earlier albums and then Pulse happened to reignite my passion further.

Dave Gilmour is, and always will be, one of my favourite musicians ever in the history of musicians 8)

I saw RW's twice on that tour and you are right, INCREDIBLE!! Best concerts of my life, bar none. I was thrilled from start to finish. I will go to ANY Roger Waters concert that I can.

There is no more passionately expressed album, in Rock or any other type of music than The Final Cut.

An astonishing piece of personal history. It may not be good rock'n roll, but is a monumental achievement. I love the passion, the feeling, the anger expressed in this album. Pure artistic expression.

The pros and conts was a very good RW album. Not very fond of the rest as far as I remember. But live it is very good and of course when he plays PF material it is like PF is on the stage itself.

Will go to a concert later this year from Pink Project, a coverband. They will do the Wall and Animals including all sounds and lighteffects. Curious about that one.
