I can't see the new touch screen model taking off, unless they can drastically improve the storage. I bought some on the back of excellent reviews (I like Sennheiser anyway) for the wife's personal and think they're smooth but bloomy in the bass and muffled up top - perfect for disguising low bitrate MP3 - ughh! This is true for home listening (in fact it's true for all compression formats) but for music on the move, I use a Sony HiMD player and listen to lots of EM and the ATRAC compression system is far superior to MP3 or AAC. But, given this is portable music we're talking about, in my experience the sound it offers is as good as the rest - the limiting factor being the quality of the headphones.DITHMAR wrote:Agreed. A couple of years ago the mini disc system took on a different guise with increased recording capacity ,now I don't know if the discs changed as well, but it is a medium that is dissapearing fast.
The only place i have seen these discs recently were in a Sony factory shop in the Clarks Village complex in Street Somerset, they may well have a contact on the web but I don't have one - sorry!.
There's also a couple of on line shops that specialise in CDRs / DVDr which I have had to use to get proper audio CDRs (not the computer type) that may be able to help - I will try and post some sites soon.
