If you read JFs bio on his webpage jeromefroese.com you will read:"....jerome chose to attend a boarding school in Switzerland where he met Zlatco Perica...." So it's obvious that it was more or less Jerome's decision to go away from home. Edgar just expressed it very humorously when he said "we kicked him out of the house..."
