Your Favourite TD Concert Entrance

Post by timer »

What track have TD used to open a gig that raised the hairs ?

Trauma behind a black curtain was a great way to open the recent Concerts.

Waterbourne with the swirling eluminated TD logos was also very impresive on the Tournado Tour 97.

Others Im having difficulty in remembering without refering to set lists. So these must be my stand outs ! 8)

Untill some one else reminds me of another !!

There's many!

I still remember Edgar entering the stage at the Tempodrom in front of a black curtain playing his blues harp, I thought I was goint to hear something from Stratosfear.

The SBE 05 gig with EF playing the Yamaha piano using a towel and improvising over Ricochet and the Moonlight sonata.

The Paradiso gigs with the orchestra playing "La Grande Spirale" was a chilling experience..

Linda opening the Alte Oper gig with a musical box, playing "yesterday"

And Trauma behind the curtain was atmospheric and worked extremely well.

plus, 'visually' the old 1930's theatre projector doing the cloud effects...simple and yet a perfect way to start a gig

I loved the start of the 1990 tour with Melrose gradually crescendoing while they were still behind the black gauze before it vanished in a split second just as the volume went through the roof.

this was a cracker but it was Three Bikes In The Sky they started with. Then when the drums kicked in, curtain dropped...fantastic!

The best entrances or starts were in the mid-70s when the band would walk on and put headphones on and sit in complete silence for minutes checking the tuning of the instruments. It created an electrifying atmosphere before the first strains of sound emerged.

I also liked the 1981 UK tour opening when they went straight into the percussive rhythm rather than using the white noise wind.

My favorite TD entrances are
in the 70's : the intro of Cherokee Lane in the 77 american tour.
in the 80's : the Logos intro in the 81 UK tour
in the 90's : Waterborne in the 92 american tour (in the europa 97 tour too)
in the 2000's:Trauma in the november 2008 tour

The entrance is a so important moment in a show.

I like too the original entrances as in Frankfurt 2007 ,or SBE 2005.

TD opened their 1986 shows in the U. S. with Pilots of the Purple Twilight. It was so smooth and mello. The song, which I had just kind of liked previously, became one of my favorite pieces.
