A Madcap question...

Post by Jon »

What's the name of the track which starts at 35 minutes on the Madcap's Flaming Promo?

was it written by Edgar or Thorsten?

This is a brilliant track IMO, including all the magic of TD, with thought-provoking lyrics/vocals perfectly incorporated.

It's by Thorsten,
track 11. HYMN TO INTELLECTUAL BEAUTY
Music by Thorsten Quaeschning, Lyrics by Percy B. Shelley

http://www.bartleby.com/236/71.html

they've re-written the poem to fit the song as well. Perhaps Einsteins Barber can add more?

THE AWFUL shadow of some unseen Power
thats Floats unseen among us,—visiting
This various world with as inconstant wing, inconstant wing
As summer winds that creep from flower to flower,—
Like moonbeams that behind some piny mountain shower,
It visits with inconstant glance
Each human heart and countenance;
Like hues and harmonies of evening
Like clouds in starlight widely spread,
Like memories of music.... fled

Love, Hope, and Self-esteem, like clouds departed
come, for me uncertain moments lent.

etc

Lyric adaption by Bianca F.Acquaye

Cheers Bianca!

OK, thanks.

I think this shows that Thorsten is a right member for TD. He hasn't been in the band for long, but is already capable of writing great music with many TD-trademarks.

I agree. Thorsten is a very fine tunesmith!

No problem. Couldn't agree more, although the track seems quite simple, it's full of subtle Thorsten touches. This promo tracks are really starting to grow on me, although I'm not sure how they'll go down with live with me :)

Gotta admit the opener that they opened the Tempodrom concert with is my favourite. Didn't Edgar write that?
