I have been a few times and I might be just unlucky but they are very costly and quite poor quality the ones I have stayed in. this was around the time the festival was on though.

Hopefully someone can suggest a good one at a decent price

I'd like to help gys but as far as I know there aren't any reasonable Hotels in Edinburgh. Most are very expensive. The flea pits aren't all that cheap either. I'll hopefull be able to catch the last train to Falkirk and get a taxi home from there it's a bit of a nusance the gig is on Sunday. I can't stay overnight in Edinburgh because I've got to get back home for the mutt. I will of course be there and will finally meet some of you guys in the flesh. 8) My good lady will accompany me.

Sorry, put this on the other thread - The Central & West End Travelodges are still listing rooms at £30 a night. Haymarket at £65 is probably the nearest. but the Central one is only a few minutes walk away, across the Grassmarket - between the Cowgate & the High St. Basic, consistant & cheap - I've booked there. :)

Will post up some other stuff later but in November, there will be a bit less by way of B&Bs - many of them only operate April-September.

Some of the online hotel sites for Edingburgh are real bastards tho - I've been caught by them before. They will take your booking at one price, then cancel & try to push you on to a higher price. :(

St Christopher's Hostel - Private rooms with en-suite from @£25-30

Various Hostels, guesthouses & B&Bs:

Facillities vary but most have done away with curfews, so should be OK with BA members staggering in at all hours these days. :D

Have OK reports from friends for:

Airlink - Cheapest way into the city centre from the Airport, departs from the left hand end of the terminal frontage:

http://www.flybybus.com/index.php

Will drop you at Haymarket, the end of Lothian Rd - just up from the venue & at Waverlely Station. Ask the driver to shout-out if you are unsure about where to get-off.

There are a number of taxi-type/minibus services that do scheduled runs to further destinations/specific hotels in the central area. Range is from @£6-£15

N22 Night Bus - Runs to the airport from Ocean Terminal in Leith, through the centre:

Just booked a double room for 30 quid in the Travelodge in the West End. No cancellation refund though so I hope TD don't cancel. All I need now is a dogsitter.
