Edgar and TD on stage

Post by bigmoog »

Im just musing on musings.....does anyone have an idea why nearly all TD stage line ups have Edgar stage left (as the audience sees it)?

Im reminded of the classic line ups, you know EF left, CF centre and PB stage right....I wonder if this has any significance....does anyone remember a gig (apart from the early concerts) where Edgar is not stage left?

BM is bored and needs information he probably has heard before

it dates from when Edgar painted Buses...and he'd always start of the left ;)

Good question though BM...all the photos I have from 1973 show Edgar on the left

I just bought a routemaster on ebay....It needs a good coata paint....

it is interesting, I wonder if the group dynamic would have been different, if say Edgar sat centre stage....and CF was placed outside the venue :o

Maybe stage left is Ed's musing corner:

"If you want me
You can find me
Left of center
Wondering about you..."

Probably the same reason couples stick to one side of the bed....either that or he likes to be nearest to the bar :D

The left side is the side of your heart.... 8)
I also think he doesn't like to be in the focus...he's different from rockstars, more modest.

nice statement :D
and as he said also in an older interview
he sees himself "just as an servant of music"
I hate 'rock star' attitude
God bless EF

I'm sure if Edgar got his way, the band members wouldn't even be visible, just like in the 73-74 era.
