tdream4ever wrote:First, my apologies please. I assumed that because of the festival style concert that the Dream would play no more than two hours. Okay. I was wrong. They play a bit over three hours. Nice.

Second, there are several youtube videos up on utube right now. Some really nice ones IMO.

(English translation will follow).

Question de goût personnel !

Comme le dit l’adage : « No money, No candy ! »

OUI! Comme j’aime le dire souvent : « dREaM oN again and again !!!

Google translation with my personal touch!

What can I say about this beautiful visit of my favorite group in Montreal?!

Difficult to be objective and not to have enjoyed every second of this show of over 3 hours!

As the picture shows above, I was accompanied by my friend and TD “diehard fan” Daniel Chrétien and Gilles Garneau who are great collectors of TD material (CD, DVD, etc.).

It was a great pleasure to meet Sylvain Lupari and his wife Lise. Many people here in this forum know him for his articles on electronic "Berlin School" music.

On the other hand, I had the opportunity to meet Xavier Proulx, a young amateur of the group who is already a part of the new generation of TD "fans”!

That was my third TD concert. Difficult to compare each of these shows but I was surprised about the warm welcome that the group received during that last concert at the Place des Arts!

Musically, I especially appreciated the mix of new and old material that was played. Visually, I found that the projection of images in the background did not bring much more to show. However, the light show was excellent. The sound was very loud and sometimes the bass frequencies buried the saxophone and clarinet of Linda (who was very sexy that night!) and the violin and cello of Hoshiko. As for Iris, she brings a great dynamic in most parts of TD except that I think certain parts would not need his support. It’s a personal taste!

Edgar looked good and he mentioned at the end of the show that the band and himself liked Montreal! I guess that's the kind of speech that each city receives, but it seemed to be really honest!

The possibility of buying t-shirts, posters, cd, etc was very disappointing. After the show, a small table was accessible beside the front door which it was possible to buy CD’s of the last 2 or 3 "TD albums", the single album of Bernhard Beibl & Martin Weninger (2012), posters of the current tour (Electric Tangerine Tour) and the 2010 Zeitgeist (autographed by the band). There were also black bags with the Inferno cover CD (painted by Bianca) who was on the table too. No t-shirt or DVD's was available. We were disappointed but we think that it was probably in the rules of the Jazz Fest to limit the artist to sell their material during the event.

Another slight disappointment was the fact that we were not able to go "backstage" to meet the band. It seems that the Jazz Festival also has strict rules about this. This is just a guess but I think that there were not people who had a membership of TD Fan Club "Orange". So, in this case, it was easy to block access to us. To use a popular expression: "No money, no candy!"

In conclusion, despite these few negatives points, I sincerely thank the band for their generosity and for making me live another night to remember! YES! As I often like to say: "dREaM oN, again and again!
