My journey back to the Midlands yesterday was stunning. There must have been a good foot of snow in the Chilterns making Henley on Thames look like a perfect Christmas card. Sad to see so many abandoned cars around though and a reminder that pretty snow has messed up loads of peoples' Christmases.
Back here in Worcester, there's no snow, but the frost needs to be seen to be believed. Some guy locally recorded -16 last night, and it certainly felt like it!
Our little peninsula has its own micro-climate - Ipswich is only 13 miles down the road and they copped far worse than we did, so we escaped the worst of the snow. The rain yesterday washed it all away, so this Christmas Morning it's chilly and WET - ugghh.
I deeply feel for those who lost their gas supply for a week. Hopefully they had access to electric heaters/cookers
