There's also a side long track by Conrad Schnitzler called Krautrock, featured on the album "Rot" from 1973

The term was not invented by Germans, at least according to Ralf Hütter:

This past year on WDR TV there was in fact 2 programs that dealt with the history of Krautrock (a derogatory slang label German musicians hated). That term was coined by the late English journalist Ian MacDonald (not the King Crimson member). MacDonald wrote a couple articles in the UK pop press, circa 1970/ 71. In them he used it as a moniker for the music coming out of the new rock scene in Germany.

I recommend all albums by La Düsseldorf

being a krautrock afficianado since year zero*, I dispute that Ian coined the phrase krautrock, I have always assumed (and I may be wrong....Im often wrong.....) that the issuance of this term originated with the originators

Amon : Duul

due to me being BM...I cant remember which album track generated the term.....will have to go home and dig out the Duu:L

*year zero is 1967 e.v.

hey I didn't say I liked the music! I just said it was nice to see 'em ;)
Personally I think there's some great music around these days, but as in 1973 95% of all music is c.r.a.p...the interesting bit in the 5% you or I like and the differences we have

bm decided to give 'grobschnitt' by grobschnitt..(on bwain).a spin again

this is krautprog and quite nice music if you like pomp, overblown meanderings, weird chord progressions, pretension and near unlistenable waffle.......i like it

Nice clips of TD and KS.

What was Rick Wakeman doing up on that cliff? Nice hat by the way.

I've actually got that Yes clip on DVD somewhere. How sad is that?
