What is the exact nature of the op Colin? Are they fusing vertebrae? I can understand your trepidation, but if it means you'll eventually be pain free, it will be worth it!epsilon75 wrote:It certainly would Tim, i cant wait to get it done but am not relishing the prospect of it and what comes with ittimer wrote:It would take your mind off the op though !
Looks like a discectomy Mick but still not 100% sure, even with the discectomy there is no guarantee the pain will be resolved,i have at least 3 discs very worn out and the gel between them has completely de-hydrated and one hanging out on the sciatic nerve,as you no doubt know Mick the back is a very fragile area and can cause some serious misery...Hobo wrote:What is the exact nature of the op Colin? If that's the case Colin, push for a microdiscectomy. It leaves a much smaller scar and allows the surgeon to view the affected area much more clearly. Discectomy often requires laminectomy (laminotomy), which is a riskier procedure and will likely delay your recovery (but you probably already know this).epsilon75 wrote:Looks like a discectomy Mick but still not 100% sure, even with the discectomy there is no guarantee the pain will be resolved,i have at least 3 discs very worn out and the gel between them has completely de-hydrated and one hanging out on the sciatic nerve,as you no doubt know Mick the back is a very fragile area and can cause some serious misery...Hobo wrote:What is the exact nature of the op Colin?
