I have been watching this all night. Very emotional scenes, a supreme testament to human ingenuity in the face of possible tragedy. Chile! I salute you. :D

Very heartening to see the right thing done - I shudder to think how it would have played out in England

The French are revolting  because amongst other things the pension age is rising to 62. The french are in revolution mode: fires, riots, blockades, no petrol, strikes, guillotines, bastille storming

In England, the pension age is to rise to 66, public sector cuts, half a million job losses, a decimated defence budget, welfare cuts.........and what do we do? We watch X factor, buy celebrity mags, dribble about that waste of space Rooney, get pi$$ed on cheap booze, drool over plastic titted wimmin, and moan and whinge and do eff all.

I couldn't agree more mate....

I watched the news the other night and they announced the half million job losses in the public sector in almost the same breath as Rooney.... it just about sums up what's wrong with this country....
Be at one with the sequencing.....

Yeah, but... I wonder if our French strikes will do anything, because we have crazy and stupid people in our government and on the "top of the mountain". They really make me sick and angry !
Next hope for us : the 2012 election...

BE IN NO doubt that it will be the taxpayer (the peasantry) footing the bill, in this time of austerity, eurozone calamity, wars, pestilence, The X factor........

‘Is this the liberty which we promised to maintain with our blood? Shall posterity say that to save them from the yoke of the King, we have placed them under the yoke of the populace?’

and thus:

Cromwell: What if a man should take upon himself to be King?
Whitelocke: I think that remedy would be worse than the disease
