The next 40 years !

Post by timer »

As we are quickly coming up to the September 40 th anniversary, what do ua fanatics expect from TD in the next 40 years.
PErsonally i am extremely happy with all of the recent releases (Madcaps is still an oddity, but a great CD in it's own right).
Ones we know of :
The continuation of the Atomic seasons CDs.
Edgars View from A red Train CD/DVD.
The Eberswalle DVD.
Edgars Book.

Ones I wish for:
Logos 25th Anniversary Double CD/DVD.
Poland 1983 DVD.
The full Rubycon session recordings.

I suppose in about 15 - 20 years time TD may no longer exist as a recording/touring band. It will be a sad day when that day comes. I think TD will be remembered by people like ourselves as visionaries who produced music like no other band. I myself will listen to TD's music till my last breath. In the next few years TD will continue to surprise and delight the people who follow them. And maybe when Edgar does retire there will be plenty of unreleased material to be released. Edgar is 63 now and IMO he does look a tad older than that. I just hope he keeps good health and continues delighting us in a way no other band can.

I'm still hoping for the highlights of the 1977 tour on DVD....

It would be really cool if EB/Edgar could tell us exactly what material from the early days he has, or should have - even from the Pink Years (Why not from the Atem sessions for example?)

I just hope that the band were able to retain the session masters rather than Virgin. If these tapes were left "at the Manor" then they'd have been re-used shortly after the album was completed, although the Tubular Bells multi-track tape(s) were found under someone's bed I recall some time later...

Otherwise I agree with Timer...

the next 40 years?

i foresee more music and artifacts, then the project will be complete

i only require music and the moment when i begin to read edgar's book

it will only be the view and perspective of the one

then i hope to be alive to enjoy history's final judgement on the only group that really matters to me
