±±± One year ago today, I was admitted to Hospital as an acute patient, with ,as It has turned out, a rare syndrome: Malignant Phase Hypertension, which in turn resulted in renal failure, heart and respiratory impairment.

After 4 weeks on ward I was discharged and into the care of Drs Marsh, Cross and Gallagher, who continue to manage my aftercare and continuing research into the cause.

Over the past 12 months I have had numerous biopsies, scans and blood tests which has resulted in a fair to good prognosis.

I have, apparently, a 60-70% chance of living beyond the next 5 years :D , and my health is continuing to be managed. Recent analysis has shown some trouble but nothing even more medication and care wont help with.

I continue with quarterly scans and await last weeks results with interest.

I would like to send my thanks to all the nurses and doctors who put up with me, let me say here that the NHS when it needs to be, is effing brilliant.

And to friends and family : I aint dead yet

And to my TD friends, especially Colin, Tim, Andy, Chris N....everyone!
I thank you so much for your friendship.

I had no epithany while in intensive care, although I did have a vision of a satanic nun smoking a turnip, but really, the experience taught me that the love of family and friends is the only thing that matters: that really is the truth.

Onwards to RAH2010 :!:

Ain't that the truth.

Been given quite a lot of grief for putting family before work recently but....

...stuff 'em.

Here's to many happy years of TD-listening to you BM.

How is she doing Dave? Sadly, my own mother is very ill at the moment also.

OK Conrad just keeps on going. Waiting for results of the scan but will be nothing. Its the post polio that affects her and just general health.
