Just found out and have been deeply upset by this news. When I was in my late teens Gary Moore was a big hero of mine, mainly thanks to his work with Colosseum II. I'm going to miss him loads. RIP Gary.

RIP Gary Moore.

I really only know his 1989 After The War album. Here is the story:

When my cousin turned 15 in 1989 I bought After The War on cassette for him. Before I gave it to him I listened through it and dubbed it to a cassette for myself. After some years my copy disappeared. Many years went and finally, a couple of years ago, I bought a cheap vinyl version on the album, but sadly it lacked my two favorite tracks from the tape, Dunluce and The Messiah Will Come Again. Thanks to youtube, I can now listen to these two tracks again:

Nice to hear that many of my colleagues at work know of, or were fans of, Gary Moore, some of them really very young too. Been nice chatting to people about him today. Not a single bad word.

Owner of THE longest sustained guitar note in history.

Parisienne Walkways.

Way too young to leave, RIP Gary.

I remember the sustained note in Parisienne Walkways. Saw him play it at the Colston Hall in Bristol once and it went on for minutes. It sounds terrible when put in to words but it was very entertaining at the time.
