Congrats to Eastgate and their soon to be here 20,000th registrant! No small accomplishment. That 20,000th person should get a prize of some kind.

VAST majority are spam bots unfortunately.

I once made a crude calculation some time back that around 93% of users are in fact spammers, with a very small minority that are proper posters.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if the % of spam bots increase, as member numbers keep increasing at a fast rate.

It could be worse though, in that the spammers have not been able to post (at least not for some time) on the forum. If they could, we would be completely screwed, given how many bots there are...

Maybe the forum could be set up so that user accounts that haven't been used for a while are either suspended or cancelled pending a log in by the user.

Maybe also when registering to join the forum there should be a question about Tangerine Dream, nothing difficult, but just something that would complete the registration process and would be too much hassle for the spammers.... just my two cents worth :)

That's a good idea, in addition could have the standard anti-bot CAPTCHA as well.

358 persons with one or more postings and almost 30000 members. That sucks.
Administrator, do your work and remove all the not good. :(

yeah, more than 30000 now. In one day 300 or so increased. TD has to think of an extra key on the forum. This doesn't work now.

A lot of old members are gone, because of the spam problems and that is not fun anyway. We need the input of the oldies. :(

But the spammers are not posting, so what is the problem?

I have noticed all these muppets registering on here but have not seen any problems on the messageboard here as a result.

They dont seem to be an issue :?:

Needing a good clearout though :!:

Also it would be very good to see the other regulars back on here again :?
