Cheers,i will get this one24db wrote:KRAFTWERK & THE ELECTRONIC REVOLUTION
2008 UK Region 2 PAL DVD
This DVD reviews the career and music of Kraftwerk, from their inception in the late 1960s (as pre-Kraftwerk ensemble Organisation), through their most celebrated period in the mid 1970s, and culminating with their resurgence during the 1980s with the popularity of synth-pop and techno.
The film further explores how Kraftwerk both fitted in and pulled away from the electronic wing of what is often lazily referred to as 'Krautrock'. Sparing time also for many of the groups' contemporaries from the same field, and tracing the unfolding of electronics in German contemporary music generally, this programme presents a fascinating story previously untold on film.

there are two other books on Kraftwerk as well. Btw the best doc on Kraftwerk was on Finnish or Swedish TV (I forget which now)...during it Bartos takes the camera crew down to the Kling Klang studioSfearical Sequence wrote:The DVD seems to be also available in NTSC from Amazon.com for US$14.99. Having read the biography twice, I'm very interested in this documentary. I wonder how cooperative they were about this given their reputation for privacy and secrecy. It could be that they're getting more open in their old age, lest people forget about them completely.
