Good stuff, Peter. I've added it to the collection. Can we hope for some more in the future?

Very good gentlemen. Must have a go myself one day. Not sure I could cope with not getting anywhere near the old TD sound though, it might all end in tears.

Had great fun a few years back messing around with some bits and pieces (that's samples to you) I nicked from some old TD tracks. Edgar needn't worry, I wouldn't make any money out of them ..........unless I was paid not to play them.

Great track Peter, I really enjoyed it! You're developing a style of your own - melodic and well structured :D

You must be close to an album's worth now?

I enjoyed your track Jason and I've had yours, Jacob, on my phone for a while - it's quite a contrast to the rest on there!

I hope to do more but at the rate I'm going I'll have a full CD out in the year 2525 (if man is still alive and woman can survive...)

Asked this a while ago elsewhere - How do you get started on creating this sort of thing on a shoestring budget?

It's great fun creating sequences on the Arturia MoogV (demo noises notwithstanding), but I need a USB/MIDI keyboard (thanks for the earlier suggestion of an M-Audio Oxygen 61 or similar 24db) so that I can create some sort of "tune" with the pads /leads available - using a mouse for this is damn difficult...

Since then my son wants (needs) to learn piano/keyboard skills (so do I).

What cheap/used synth/keyboards could be used with a PC to create synth sounds with delay and reverb etc and how the heck do I store it to make a sound file? Would the M-Audio one do it all for now?

Sorry to bore you all with this request, but I have musical ideas but can't put them into practise.

There's tons of stuff out there and I daren't go into a music shop until I have some idea. The software route may be cheaper at present.

I feel I should give some answer out of courtesy but to be honest I'm out of touch - whenever I do open a synth magazine it ends in weeping and contemplation of turning to crime to raise some dollar.

My synth is not far off 20 years old so I doubt you could buy anything 2nd hand that couldn't produce enough interesting sounds to be useful. I use it with an obsolete version of Cubase. Although you'd get onboard FX with your synth you'd probably want to generate that when mixing so that'd be on a PC to give you breadth for your buck.

I had an article on open source (ie free!) music software somewhere - I shall dig it out and see what's up - whether you'll even need a synth as opposed to the keyboard.

I would certainly say that, if you have to buy a Midi keyboard, you may was well get one that can generate its own sounds, and preferably one that has after-touch and so-on to give extra control.
You can pick up many early nineties machines such as the M1 or D50 for a couple of hundred quid these days.
