 So New Age music must have been a very big thing. I never heard Celestine Prophecy. Is it any good?

n.b. I didn't like Klemania.
It's not like Klemania. It has a much more spiritual / New Age feel with chanting monks and a couple of soft-pop tracks with female vocals. There are a few PCH themes here and there, but it is really not very like anything else he has done that I can think of.

I highly rate it as one of my favourites of his, with some definite toe-tapping hum-along melodies, together with some quite powerful synth moments.
After Klemania, I will endeavour to try this before I buy it.

Here's an item I posted on tadream a while ago regarding my thoughts on the Celestine Prophecy. Thought it would fit in with this discussion.

While looking through the movie review section the
other day I noticed that a movie of the Celestine
Prophecy had been made. I haven't read the book and
the movie itself doesn't interest me. But I remembered
that the album was officially sanctioned by the author
and that he even wrote short "essays" on the music
contained in the album. I also remembered liking parts
of the album but being kind of put off by the "essays"
and subject matter. In any case, it seemed like it was
a heart felt project by Chris, and not just a "work
for hire" soundtrack. So I looked through my CD
collection and played the album again.

There's a lot to like on the album. Some nice tunes
and very TD like playing by Chris with some sounds
clearly from his time with TD and assumedly composed
by him when he was with the band. There's also some
stuff that's kind of off putting, to me at least. Some
of it sounds like a bit like outtakes from Enigma and
"The Lion King" for instance. Still, an album worth an
occasional listening at least.

I looked through the booklet again, yuck. It even
includes an invitation to subscribe to James
Redfield's monthly newsletter, only $29.95.

I checked Amazon and found that the album is out of
print. That seemed curious considering the movie is
just being released. I checked the IMDB and found that
the credits for the movie don't mention Chris Franke
and the music is, apparently, by someone named Nuno
Malo. I found no indication in Amazon of a movie
soundtrack by Malo.

........well, maybe not so curious that the album is
no longer in print, since it appears that hardly
anything by Chris is in print. In checking, it appears
that he is sort of semi-retired. I know that there are
some pretty ardent Franke fans on this list. Maybe
they could fill us in on what he's been up to.

shame Chris Franke cant do more albums that are not B5 soundtracks. I think all his albums have been fantastic and it would be amazing to see him to another concert as I never got to see The London Concert.

Anyway guess you shouldn`t big up CF in this forum
