Forthcoming Paul Haslinger CD

Post by Jon »

On August 28 Varese Sarabande Records will release Paul Haslinger's music from the film Shoot Em Up. This will be Haslinger's first solo score on this no. 1 film music label.

See http://www.varesesarabande.com , clik on Upcoming Releases.

Yes, perhaps, but the film music is what pays his bills.

sadly you're 100% correct, although I think he has more impact that other ex-TD members, seduced by the Hollywood buck. Even if he produces stuff I don't like at least the guy has talent and a distinct style

Planetary Traveller has some of my favourite PH music on it. I've not been so keen on his studio albums recently. I liked all of them when they first came out, but find them a bit too aggressive and dated now. I prefer him when he's in his more mellow 'Lightwave' moods.

Clicked on the link and the first thing I saw was:

Babylon 5: The Lost Tales
Original Soundtrack

Artist(s): Christopher Franke
Category: Film & TV Soundtracks

So it's not just Paul making Hollywood bucks.

That side project he did (Coma Virus) is terribly underrated in my opinion. That would have been a much more interesting direction for him to explore musically instead of the trip-hop world electro fusion mess of an album that SCORE was.
