I think the war might have had something to do with it lads...it's changed countries didn't it?

Tilsit was occupied by the Red Army on January 20, 1945, and was annexed by the Soviet Union in 1945. The remaining Germans who had not evacuated were subsequently expelled and replaced with Soviet citizens. The town was renamed Sovetsk by the new communist rulers in 1945, in honor of the Soviet system of rule.

Hi Guys,

Just to bring some light into history:

Edgar is the child of German parents accidentally born in East Prussia
(at that time the most Eastern province of the so-called 'German Reich'. East Prussia existed from 1871 to 1945).
Edgar came to Berlin as a baby just two or three month old (in 1944) when his mother left East Prussia.
You all know the rest of the legendary EF/TD history...)

By the way, Edgar always feels as a kind of world citizen, an earthling.
Nationality never was important to him, we human beings all feel, love and fear the same way.

Thanks for the information. Not important, but still interesting. Not sure where I got the idea he was born in Lithuania. My mistake.

I don't think it was an idea, I have read something about this on a website linking Edgar's roots to Lithuania. Hopefully these rumors don't spread too far. Factual information is important, especially when it deals with one's personal life.
