Chris Franke: The London Concert

Post by theonehorst »

I just bought this album by Christopher Franke via iTunes.

I am really impressed. I really don't like the franke stuff exspecially the newer releases.

but this live album really kicks ass.

Part II: Purple Waves is a great track, has the potential to become one of my favourites.

Is a very good CD - one of only a few god one's by CF - some of the footage from this concert is also very impressive.

Sadly it's true...that's when Chris was playing at the Astoria, whilst pretending he was playing somewhere else ;)

The London Concert is probably my favourite Chris Franke releases

...but then again most of the music is TD.

Well I have to admit, that i just get to know TD by Franke. When I was 18, I was a huge B5 fan. Now I own about 70 Tangerine Release and when I listen to the Babylon 5 Stuff, I really find it soo crappy.

so the Live in London album is some kind of highlight to me :D

It's my favourite Chris F. release, too.

However your last sentence is incorrect.

If you liked The London Concert, you'll also enjoy Klemania. It, too, has some very good TD-inspired compositions.

I like Klemania, but find the pieces thrown together a little too erratically.

I like the London Concert. Klemania is OK and Pacific Coast Highway is so so. I have a couple of the B5 albums and Film Music vol. 1. I like some of the movements. But a lot of it sounds like any other film music. The London Concert is very TD but some of CF's traits are there.

interesting points above, however, for me only PCH and the London Concert register on the BM CF radar....and I prefer PCH....I still enjoy its softly softly approach :)

That's pretty much how I feel about his output so far. I still have a dream that he'll produce an album that is of the standard of Chains and Chymes.
