downloaded aqua off i tunes.

Just heard it once through...................

Blimey, amazing piece of work  incredible stuff!

It was also in their new "i tunes plus" format and have to say they quality is pretty damm good for an older recording.

THINK this must be the original version, wonder what the 2005 version is like

PS they seem to have some of the other lads solo stuff on i tunes also. Add that exploration to the list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like both versions..I used to hate the 2005 version but recently dusted it off and surprised myself by enjoying the whole album. I still prefer the original for it's deep atmosphere and ambience.

Never liked the original....'for me' it's like a single sentence padded out to novel length. Each to their own etc etc

I've always liked Aqua, but my only problem has been that the mastering/recording (Virgin Re-issue) shows it's age in places.

I'd love to hear a really good remastering of this one.....
Be at one with the sequencing.....

so lads can anyone defo confirm that itunes plus version is the original?

I am sure it must be, it sounds very original :D

The reason I ask is, if its not, then obviously, in view of the recommendations, I will HAVE to check out the 2005 version  8)

I count Aqua (original) as one of my favorite EM albums of all-time. I still think it's Froese's best work.

Had Aqua for a couple of weeks now.

It is magnificent. Astoundingly brilliant album. NGC 891

Any chance anyone knows if the i tunes version is the original :?: I'm pretty sure it must be, states 1974 on i tunes.

So will need the 2005 re mix probably :D

my preference is always for the original and I approach any rework/remix/replication with a clear unbiased ear and a strong drink

something strange with EF's early solo work...its all very glacial sounding and epic and superb etc

Cheers for suggesting getting both versions BM. Good shout. Great to hear the original and then compare with the 05 version. I love them both.

Excellent!

Epsilon also , as you said remix is quite different and well worth the purchase.

Favourite track is possibly NGC891, especially the 05 version.

Will now have to check out the rest of Edgars solo stuff also  8)

its great discovering TD/EF music....

not sure Har, if you have heard Epsilon in Malaysian Pale, but both the original and reissue are excellent

the original IMHO, is one of the greatest electronic music albums, that showcases Edgar's supreme mastery of the mellotron and deserves every accolade possible!! :D
