TD music in movies - 1983 to 1988

Post by Schmoelling in wonderland »

Hello

As promised, here are some other films that Tangerine Dream did the soundtrack. For some of these movies, you probably have the CD and for other films, the soundtrack has never been offered on the market.

In addition, I decided to give you ALL the links that i have for the Youtube videos. At first, i just put few links because i thought that people of the forum would have things to said, but I realize that it's not the case. In fact, I understand ... It is difficult to write when we're impressed and amazed by the music! ;-) :)

Cheers.

TD wrote so much good music from the movies. Such a pity that Edgar decided to quit in the early 90s.

thank you for the links S.I.W

I have not much comment to make except I only enjoy a few TD soundtracks, possibly because most of the actual film material, for me, is dire and a lot of the later music is IMHO repetitive and dull.

TD's skills were not put to the best use IMO....

favourite soundtracks for me:

Sorceror
Thief
Legend
Keep

films TD should have scored:

Exorcist
Alien

there are others but Im out of time

I love the Red Heat music to the closing titles. It would be great to have it released in its original form and also played live with Edgar and Bernard playing the theme on electric guitars 8)

There are so many TD soundtracks I would like to have on CD. I wish they were re-released. I look on ebay from time to time, but they usually goes for a pretty high price.
I am a happy owner of The Keep, but I am still searching for many TD soundtracks on CD.

Alien would indeed have been interesting with a Froese/Franke score instead of Goldsmith, as this was in 1979 and they were only two in the band. I have a feeling a TD Alien score would have changed the way people would look upon electronic scores...

Which TD soundtrack CDs do you search for?

I have the following ones on original CDs:

Catch Me If You Can
Firestarter
The Man Inside
Miracle Mile
The Park Is Mine
Risky Business
Shy People
Three O'Clock High
Wavelength

I have none of those on CD. Only have Firestarter end Miracle Mile from TDOC download.
So there is always something to hunt down for me when it comes to TD. So much I dont have yet. :-) But I have used the TD download shop a lot. Bought a lot of Downloads from Eastgate. So I guess I have about 60-70 CD-releases, and maybe 30 Eastgate downloads. All the soundtracks are not awailable as downloads though.

I don't have a single download. I'm still the CD guy. I could never dream of having the music on my PC only. If the downloads can be burned to a CD, I may start with it though... :P

I have many downloads. There is no way I can hear the difference between a mp3-file and a mp3-file burned to CD. So why burn them? And it is much more convenient to play mp3's. Getting tired of running to the CD player every 45-60 minutes. Plus I am a big fan of last.fm. I buy all the new CD's, but mostly play mp3's.

It has got nothing to do with the sound. It's just that I really don't have my PC on that much. I'm only online when there is something for me to do there, answering mails and so on. After the work is done, then off with the computer. I don't use last.fm.

And I really don't play that much music either. I can go a day with only one album in the player. I never have music on in the background. I have to listen actively when I play music.

Then I understand you of course. I play music non-stop whenever I am home. Absolutely all the time. And I have my PC running at all times as well. :-)
