oh dear gawd, I remember this review from the time....Record Mirror was all punkpop/new romantic......full of pics of toyah :roll:

well, we 'know' edgar hated the TD of 78 and cyclone and tour


BM loves TD 78.....sort of steamPunk :arrow:

True, but quite a few people started being fans druing this tour...so it appealed to quite a lot

I got the feeling that the guy had written the review before he went to the gig...then again I've never heard anything from that tour that I liked either

No of course not, if you like that style that TD were doing at the time. Plenty of people started being fans with that tour...and a few are still fans now.

O/T I had a look at an audio interview from BBC Newcastle in 1978...Edgar says that the Lisner Auditorium was one of the weirdest and hardest gigs they ever played....the crowd was so quiet at the beginning they thought the hall was empty!

I'll have to transcribe a few bits and pieces later in the week
