I admire your points Mick, but....the Astoria is a ****-hole, dress it up how you like...and I totally disagree, there are loads of better....make that a zillion times better, venues (in and around London). The only thing is that perhaps they charge too much for TD to make it viable. Anyway...when and where I'll try to be there!

I hate the Astoria but I Love going to gigs in the SBE. it is so much more intimate. all the best gigs I have been to have been in the SBE.
