What about a re-worked Mojave Plan at a concert very soon
I'd love to hear the Tangents version, with some live and pumped up drumming from Iris and some power chords from Bernard at the end :)
I would also really love to hear this live and re-worked aswell. 8)

I think 220 Volt was the last live album with new material that wasn't released in studio form, unless you count the Bootmoon/Bootleg Box/TD Vault archive releases!

I agree...as much as I like them, I've heard things like Catwalk, Towards The Evening Star, Stratosfear, Purple Haze, House Of The Rising Sun, Force Majeure, Warsaw In The Sun, Going West, Rising Haul In Silence and many more too many times in concert. With such a huge back catalogue to choose from, there seems no reason why they can't select lots of other tracks to rework and play live. I hope Sphinx Lightning at The Astoria is the way forward. My wishlist...

Red Roadster (with live guitarist)
Mojave Plan
Teetering Scales
Network 23
Longing For Cashba (full version from East) :D
Horizon  :D :D

That would be cool.

I can just about remember hearing it back in the early 80s so it's due for an airing.

Then release it on CD i for one would prefer it to the 'greatest hits' type show as good as they are
I've been thinking this for some time, but I wonder if the fact they don't do proper tours any more counts against this. It was a thrill unique to TD going to a concert and knowing you were going to hear something for the first time, but then the expectation followed that some time later there'd be record to live it all again.

Problem is now if they do produce a live recording all those people that have had the bootleg for months would moan that this has been cut or this bit wasn't live rather than just enjoying it for what it is.

Personally I'd have loved to have had a cleaned up edited version of the 86 tour, and much as I love most of the music on the DVDs I think these would benefit from some studio work especially on the bridging sections which to me lack the subtlety of old and just seem like the standard random chimey chords whilst the new set of sounds is loaded.
