TD LIVE @ MOOGFEST - ASHEVILLE (USA) 28 OCT 2011

Post by Einstein's Barber (ADMIN) »

Hi Guys,

TANGERINE DREAM will be headlining the Moogfest 2011, "the annual festival of electronic and visionary music, celebrating the innovative spirit of Bob Moog, inventor of the Moog synthesizer. Taking place Oct. 28 – 30, in beautiful Asheville, NC, Moogfest’s Halloween harvest of musical delights builds on the tremendous success of last year’s reinvention of the Moogfest concept in the city that Bob Moog called home.
This year’s Moogfest lineup highlights a remarkable synergy of classic electronic music pioneers, contemporary groundbreaking artists, and young upstarts who are further pushing musical boundaries...."

We very much hope to meet some American fans!:-)

I'll be looking into this event. I already bought tickets for the E-Live 2011 featuring LOOM. The Moogfest is minimum $149-$200. Ouch!! I thought we were in a economical drought here. Guess not!! Its good to see that Edgar has kept his word. 8)

Moogfest's description of Tangerine Dream :-
With a discography of more than 100 albums – including everything from film scores to records inspired by poet Edgar Allan Poe – over the course of its nearly 40-year career, Germany’s Tangerine Dream has become one of the preeminent psych-electronic groups in history. Using 1960’s krautrock as a starting point with their seminal album Pink Years, Tangerine Dream became one of the fore bearers of electronic music, influencing ambient acts such as Deepspace and Future Sound of London, and more avant-garde rock acts such as Radiohead, M83 and Porcupine Tree. Though the band will release three different records in 2011 (including a deluxe version of their 1972 classic Zeit), their laser-laden live performances are rare, with Moogfest being the first on these shores since 2008 and the only one this year.
TD - thanks for many a happy hour
