I really rate that show. It was a bit of a departure from the normal TD show but I enjoyed it immensely. I wonder if we'll see the like again?

Hi,

Saw them 3 times ...

Santa Monica Civic their first tour

Greek Theater their next tour (the one that has the picture memorialized in the live album) (I was there ... and let me tell you ... that was "Electric" ...

Portland Oregon 77 or 78 (can't rembember)

The best was definitly the Greek Theater. But the most exciting one, still ... was the first one at the Santa Monica Civic ... there were so many people that were just so .,.. soo .... high ... and I don't mean that stuff ... and excited ... finally ... some of the most far out of the european stuff is coming around ... FINALLY ... in America ... where pop grub rules ... not music!

goodness! ;) go on give it a try. Btw I nearly fell off my chair when Ed told me he'd been to 40 odd TD gigs...which was even more surprising as I was standing up at the time ;)

Come on ED...it's time to list them mate!

1.Dominion Theatre, London 1982 (evening show)..enough said!
2.Hammersmith Odeon, London 1981...it's the gauze man!
3.Hammersmith Odeon, London 1986/Shepherds Bush Empire 2005 (Joint 3rd...glue the first half of SBE 05 onto the second half of 86 and you'd half a perfect gig. Get's a Brucie bonus for the humorous intro from Edgar!)
4.Picture House, Edinburgh, 2008 (second gig on my own...fantastic, totally surreal, get to say hello to the entire band, well, minus Linda and beer only £1.60 a pint. Minus one mark for Ed's dancing...there's never an excuse for that!)
5.Alte Oper, Frankfurt, 2007 (get's an extra mark for the brilliant merch stall and the outstanding fan meet and pre-fan meet. All fan meets are now judged against this!)
6.The Forum, London, 2008 (looses a mark for the weather and muppets pushing in the queue...but get's a full mark for saying hello to Edgar)
7.Shepherd's Bush Empire, London, 1996 (looses a mark for sitting on a girder for 3 hours...OUCH!)
8.Astoria, London 2003 (first gig I went to on my own, rather liked it)
9.Astoria, London 2007 (get's an additional point for Thorsten coming along tot he pub afterwards and the chips we ate)
10.TUe, Eindhoven, 2008 (poor afternoon, followed by a better, if late TD ;))
11.Shepherd's Bush Empire, London 1997 (get's a mark for the videos and Emil's drumming...greatly missed!!!)
12. Zitadelle, Berlin, 2009 (a currates egg of a gig...very nice to see the band again though)
13.Shepherd's Bush Empire, London 2001. Getting hit in the face by a drumstick was the highlight
14.Hammersmith Odeon 1990 (gets a mark for Linda's gold h-ot pants and Jerome's brilliant guitar solo)
15.Royal Festival Hall, London 2004....um...er...yes...total respect to Edgar for the vision and effort though

Yes, I thought I saw (a puddy tat) them in 1990 (Nottingham), but in actually fact I don't think I actually made this one.

The really strange thing is that I know I took my first wife to one of the gigs and I think it was the SBE in 96, but we'd split up by then. I am mostly confused. was there a London gig between 1992 and 1996?

no gigs in the UK, how we suffered...a whole 6 years!!!! with full irony for those American, Australian and French fans who haven't seen TD in years

for a laugh and to be a bit more fair I judged all the concerts I've been to against the following catagories (each out of 10):

Music
Selection of Tracks
Comfort of the Venue
Sound quality
Volume
Lights
Fan meet
After Show meet
Merch Stall selection and availability

gonna have to see which one comes out on top now :)

the Dominion scored 60 out of 90

hmmm...according to my scale the Zitadelle scores more highly than the Dominion at 61!
