Is Laserium even still going?
I visited the one in LA when I was there in 1999...

I know the basics of how to make one, but that was with a synthetic ruby...so I presume that might effect the colour...but I'm probbaly wrong.

Cheers for the info

Jessies Diet:

Today I have mainy been transcribing an old interview with Peter Baumann ;)

BackBeat (KNAC-FM) USA, SEPT 8TH 1977

Peter Baumann: "...And of course that’s a very dangerous point of course for Tangerine Dream, because of the equipment. I am quite sure that maybe 40 to 50% are just going to the concert because they like the flashing lights of the sequencer and I would like to say ‘please leave again’ or try to talk to them that they understand in the right way”

I: “How important do you feel that Laserium, which goes with your tour, is to the music or is isn’t it at all”?

PB: “Well this was another experience that we have learned out of it, it does not go with go it anymore…”

I: (laughs)

PB: “We have made a film from the best sequences of Laserium and we have done music to that film. And there is still a very big part of improvisation inside this piece of music. But we have three people and we have been working together for seven years and this guy who played the laser we met half a year ago and of course he couldn’t merge into the group, like we were merging together already, so it was a detraction and it couldn’t go together. That’s why we had to skip it”

I: “Are you going to have it this time”?

PB: “No, as I say we have done a film and we have arranged music around this film and that’s what we are going to use and we have some other nice films to put music to that we are doing, from Ron Hayes for instance

David, sadly I've run out of invites for that blog (100 have access to it, so it might be a rude if I start deleting them). However I have started a brand new one where I'll be reposting the longer stuff (it's a request site...so if I mention something that sounds interesting I can repost it over there...or add some additional material...i did this today with a long article about the Royal Albert Hall concert in 1975). Once again this is an invite only blog, but I have 97 invites left...email me at ajking106 AT gmail.com and I'll send you an invitation...you'll need a google account, but that way you'll have 24/7 access

or

I can c&p anything you are interested into an email

both blog addresses are in my signature

hope this helps

the basics are quite simple, honest, the hard part is making sure they don't overheat

Hi,

Not sure about you guys, but I can easily close my eyes and trip through 3 hours of this stuff and not have to worry about anything ... just give me the music ... I don't need a shiny gold 20 ft dongalong, or some fancy lights to tell me that the music is good ...

If I had to take a look at Rampal, I might need a sleeping pill!

Lasers are good, but boy do they become a bit boring very quickly.
