I'm finding it impossible to narrow down to one. So here's my top five:

1. Coldwater Canyon
2. Talking to Maddox
3. London
4. Hamlet
5. Pergamon (side two)

while there are some quite amazing improvised solos (some would say unlistenable) on many of the 70s live shows...overall my favourite 'solo' is on Coldwater Canyon. Amazing stuff - always seriously mesmerising. :D

London and Coldwater Canyon for me.

At the moment, London beats CC only in the context of the overall piece where the solo soars over some majestic music. CC is Edgar's finest improvised guitar solo for me and I adore the whole Encore album.

Difficult question... Don't think I have a real favorite one, but Edgar's best guitar solos could include :
- Talking to Maddox
- Quichotte part 2
- Cloudburst Flight
- The tracks from "Encore"
- Hamlet
A new cosmic address for the Master Dreamer...

Spoilt for choice but Talking To Maddox blows me away, CC simply superb and the opening few seconds of Cloudburst Flight are instantly recognisable.

1. Coldwater Canyon
2. Talking to Maddox
3. London
4. Hamlet
5. Pergamon (side two)
6. Cloudburst Flight

A very difficult choice considering the guitar solo gems recorded. I am particularly fond of Sungate,Hamlet,Beach Theme/Scene and of course Cloudburst Flight amongst many other's. For sheer unpredictability and wild abandon,I would have to go for the guitar work on Detroit 77. Heavy metal electronics in the heavy metal city 8) :D
RIP Edgar. I am going to miss you.

His oeuvre is littered with genius but there can only be one for me....Cloudburst Flight. Although the fact Force Majeure was the first Tangs album I bought at the impressionable age of 14 , May account for how is still strongly resonates!

There are a lot!!

The ones I can think of right now are:

The Seven Barriers.

Insight (7th Teaching).

Togetherness.

In The Storm Of Serenity.

Hunter Shot By A Yellow Rabbit.

There's a track on the album Tangerine Tree Vol. 80 titled "Guitar Part Excerpt (Live UK 1990)", which is great.

Fading And Turning (from "Zoning").

And there's also a live version of The Blue Bridge where the whole sax part by Linda is replaced by Edgar's guitar. Mesmerizing!!

All the ones you all mentioned are great and classics, of course!! I had never listened to Talking To Maddox before, so I went to Youtube and saw a video of it with a live version. Wow, amazing!!

Just listened to Maddox from 07 on You Tube - brilliant. Like one or 2 others, I had an unforgiveable memory lapse about Cloudburst Flight - absolutely fantastic guitar work and covered by BB very well some years ago live in Edinburgh - I remember Edgar applauding him !

I'd also like to include Song of the Whale part 2 from Underwater Sunlight. :D

I wonder what Edgar's choice would be - any chance you could ask him, EB?
