LOOM - TREE HATES THE FOREST

There seems to have been a slightly muted reaction to this album. And maybe yes, album overall, but certain tracks are outstanding. CLOUDWALK is simply sublime (one of the most beautiful EM tracks I've heard in a very long time....can't get it off the player), GRAND SOLAR MINIMUM is brilliantly arra...

Re: BOOSTER VI is coming

Quite possibly the best of the series, in terms of variety, eras and re-mixes etc. Lovely to see GHAZAL on there....always really loved that bass line. One of my favourite Froese / Haslinger tracks. The extended live version is gorgeous....due for a comeback I reckon! Stand out new tracks for me tho...

Re: REMNANTS - Live + CD

Hello again, Really great to see such a positive response so far to the REMNANTS soundtrack. Incidentally, if you cut out the tracks MOON DIAL and BLUE HOUR GLASS from this initial Groove release, and stick the other two parts together, then you end up very close to the original 35 min. score....wit...

Re: Jerome interview from November 2013

Excellent interview. Hats off and respect to all.

I'm turning into a big fan of Robert Waters too....SUN CASTLE from LOOM 100 ep is great.

REMNANTS - Live + CD

Hello folks, Delighted to report that Thorsten's soundtrack to my film REMNANTS will be released on GROOVE UNLIMITED on November 16th. http://www.groove.nl/cd/g/gr-205.html Don't quote me...!!!...but it's my understanding so far that this might be a sort of initial 'pre-release', featuring a couple ...

REMNANTS - SCREEN TYPE

Hi everyone, Thanks for kind comments. REMNANTS a wide, flat screen presentation - aspect ratio 2.38:1 (or 2048 x 858 px)....like good old Cinemascope, but digital. Its companion film ANCIENT SKIES, however, is indeed a 'wrap-around' screen - the hemispheric FullDome format to be precise. I'm curren...

OPTICAL RACE

I always thought this was the best of the Froese / Haslinger +/or Froese / Froese / Haslinger albums, though a tad too 'poppy' for my overall taste. MARAKESCH is an interesting and engaging opener and GHAZAL a really beautiful closer (especially live) but MOTHERS OF RAIN wins best track hands down. ...

LOST TD SOUNDTRACKS

For my two cents CODENAME THE SOLDIER remains the greatest of all the lost TD soundtracks. Though a fair few tracks got recycled and released on WAVELENGTH and LOGOS, it's easily on a par with THE PARK IS MINE as a stand-alone. The themes from FORBIDDEN are also lovely. EB....I don't get it.....Joha...

TQ's VERNAL RAPTURE at the TDOC

I've sung TQ's praises elsewhere on this forum, and I'll keep doing it with tracks like DARKNESS VEILING THE NIGHT adding to his already superb canon. I was looking around and discovered that he'd done a TDOC only track a while back called VERNAL RAPTURE, which everybody seemed to rave about....but ...

ISLAND OF THE FAY

There's some pretty nice stuff on this album, but for me, and worth the price alone by a mile, is the final track DARKNESS VEILING THE NIGHT. I bought a download, and there weren't any credits, but I assume by the sound design this is one of Thorsten's? Makes my hair stand on end, and reminds me of ...

PPM - POIS, WINDMILLS AND BUTTERFLIES

Lovely and interesting new soundtrack download by PPM now available via the news page on their site: http://www.picture-palace-music.com/index.htm TQ warns that this is "not usual PPM music" but it does bear a fair resemblance to 2007's GOING UNDERGROUND, with a lilt towards the gentler, s...

Preventive Medicene ep

Okay, yeah, it's pricey, and yeah, the packaging is a bit on the 'thin' side........but it's a cracking little release, and as someone else said here the music is better than most albums. I advise all and sundry to snap it up while you can. It's possible, not that they should, the three non-album tr...
