I was reading an interview with Trent Reznor who's just done the soundtrack to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and apparently the director, David Fincher, wanted something like Tangerine Dream or Vangelis. That jumped out at me while watching the movie - the only really effective parts of the Drago...

TD did enough by alerting people of the delay and offering an apology. Everyone agrees it is something TD could not control, so really no effort to "make up" is needed. Yeah it might have been a better idea to not offer anything at all as opposed to "the lucky 20 " . I've pre-ord...

The idea of the re-recording itself isn't a bad idea, as the same musician had already released a version of the Unicorn theme that was actually very nice, giving it a more orchestral feel in addition to the electronics. What I don't understand, and the producer of this new release has neglected to ...

"Diamond Diary" is fantastic. I was listening to it on headphones the other day. You are not alone in liking this track! It may not have appeared on compilations, but the band have reworked this piece (in particular the sequencer pattern) several times live and on various releases. For ex...

No Love for Diamond Diary ?

It's surprising to me this has never shown up on any TD "best of" collection. It wasn't even included on Tangents, unless you count Silver Scale, which was a reworking of the track. But every single, double, or multi disc collection always ignores this piece. To me this is THE essential TD...

I'd loved to have heard what TD would have done on Michael Mann's HEAT - watching the movie in fact it feels the movie may have been temp tracked with TD before Goldenthal scored it - I love the brilliant crime drama , but the existing score is fine but never really captured me - a Tangerine Dream s...

For me , Stuntman is an absolutely brilliant album and on a par with the best of TD's output. Epsilon and Macula Transfer are close. But Stuntman has such beautiful, rich and exotic textures...a sublime effort start to finish

I think it'd be a hoot to hear TD cover the Imperial March/ Vader's theme...that has potential to be awesome lol. After all they have a CD of cover versions already.

A separate CD of instrumental covers might be a nice idea.

Wow. That's unforgivable. Surely they could get a decent recording. I hope that they aren't charging very much for it. They seem to have removed track 1 and you can only buy the rest of the tracks individually at 79p each. Perhaps that had the worst surface noise. Ridiculous though. Very unusual fo...

I don't know why a consumer of music can be pleased about this new direction of scoring movies again. Of course I'm glad for them if they get such jobs and earn money with that and their self-realization will be successful. But this is their matter. What will I have of this? Not very well enjoyable...

With TD releasing 15 or more CD's per year...a huge catalog... releasing some of these soundtracks should be in their plans. Doing bananarama versions would even be an option as long as they don't turn out like The Keep, which of course, featured hardly any soundtrack music at all. The Soldier is ve...
