Re: Worst TD tracks

I've noticed that when listening to the live material from recent years, I tend to skip over "Long Island Sunset," "Three Bikes in the Sky," and "Sally's Garden." I seem to have little tolerance for those songs and no desire to waste time listening to them. For me, Lil...

Re: Worst TD tracks

I found that "Lily" lacked any "warm-sounding" lows. It was all highs and treble; Pretty much how I feel about Optical Race . Apart from "The Midnight Trail," the bass sounds lack punch, like they're overwhelmed by all the highs and mids. The entire album has a very &q...

Re: Worst TD tracks

This thread just goes to show that the entire fan base has differing opinions on what is best and not so good. Absolutely. I know a lot of fans like the 90s and J's input. I actually liked Rockoon a bit when it was new, but it hasn't aged well. Has also to be said much of the most recent work has b...

Re: Worst TD tracks

The best result of the Froese-Haslinger tandem is Miracle Mile . If it had been released as a non-soundtrack album, it would be regarded as a classic on the level of Underwater Sunlight . For some reason, it doesn't get enough mention. When Jerome joined, something happened. I'm afraid the music was...

Re: What do you think / wish: is this the end of TD?

I find Jerome's wording about Edgar's passing disrespectful. There is an air of self import about him, isn't there? Particularly when he makes note of (yet another) TD comp that focuses on his time in the band before he offers his opinion on "wannabe lineups." To me, there's nothing "...

Re: Music

http://www.replicaradio.ro/images/Peter-Baumann-Transharmonic-Nights_9949dh9r.jpg I recently purchased this and Romance '76 . If Peter can wield the same kind of magic found on his first two solo albums, I welcome it. Interesting to note that these three albums all appeared in 1979: Force Majeure S...

Re: Jerome

Jerome has made it clear that he will not be involved. Precisely. Strange that people would misread that. I think they're fazed by Jerome's emphatic dismissal of any activity in the TD camp from this point forward. Truthfully, outside of Loom, I've not followed Jerome in his post-TD years. I've hea...

Re: Jerome

I thought Bianca had a say in it? Jerome's post leaves me with the impression that he is not interested in doing anything under the name, from playing/recording/tribute, etc. He's not been a part of TD for 10 years...

Re: Jerome

I wondered about this as well. I think it may be a private joke of Jerome's to call the track that. As it's an outtake from the first Dream Mixes album, did he give this piece the title "Comfortably Numb" back in the early 1990s I wonder? You cannot copyright a song title, but he should h...

Re: What do you think / wish: is this the end of TD?

:( Jerome left TD sometime ago and it was clear that he no longer wanted to be part of the band. There were rumours going round that he fell out with his father and that he and Thorsten didn't get on either. Well, when you post an exhaustive list of your writing credits on your website and you nego...

Re: What do you think / wish: is this the end of TD?

Well its apparent that the name' Tangerine Dream' won't be seen on stage - unless Edgar willed it to the band members - though I'd have thought it would pass to Jerome - who has clearly stated that TD is dead. SO it begs the question as to what Baumann will now bring to the fore in due course!!! Je...

Re: What do you think / wish: is this the end of TD?

Now I'm not trying to stir the pot, but ... Here is Jeromes statement from Facebook - he remains definitely out of TD: {...} People who know me in person also know that "opportunism" and "chumming up" are characteristics that I deeply abominate. First part of the "Orange Siz...

Re: Tonight's The Night (1987)

If I have time this week, I'll watch the movie. It's the only one of Roth's with a TD score that I've not heard.

Re: Red Nights (1988)

Hey, Jon, I saw this movie back in the '80s and it's a fairly run-of-the-mill suspense thriller (IIRC), but the end titles are very cool and I did record them onto cassette. Ah, those early fanboy days. I don't think any of the music showed up on either volume of Hollywood Years.
