The London Show

I estimate that the show is just starting as I type this. So, I thought I'd create a thread for those of you fortunate enough to attend to tell me all about it. So tell, my loves, my darlings, my poppets, tell all! Regale me with your accounts of the performance, that I might for one brief moment li...

I hadn't thought of the possibility of Iris doing some singing. That's just embarrassing!

Re: TANGERSTOCK 2010: ETERNAL PEACE FOR THE WORLD CONCERT.

Imagine two days of Tangerine Dream and related music as a festival! Concerts by: Chris Franke,Paul Haslinger,Jerome Froese,Johannes Schmoelling,Steve Schroyder`s Star Sounds Orchestra,Klaus Schulze, etc plus special guests Kitaro & Jon Anderson. And guest musicians like: Ralf Wadephul,Zlatko P...

Well, I know Thorsten can sing. He got vocal credits for some of the Picture Palace Music stuff. I've still not heard any of that, but since I dig Thorsten's work with TD, I'm definitely going to.

Madcap's Flaming Duty - forthcoming live performance

I, being in New Zealand, will sadly not be able to attend this show. And they're never coming here (tho' I understand they played in Auckland in 1975) so it's unlikely that I'll ever see TD live. But that's irrelevant. Listening to MFD, I noticed that a few of the songs, "One Hour Of Madness&qu...

In the interests of looking gentlemanly, I don't want to be seen to wholeheartedly agree with that...but...just between ourselves...hell yes!

Yes, another TD diehard converted! I've struggled to come to grips with Edgar's concept, on cd, but, having watched the dvd, WOW. This is a stunning piece of modern opera, with beautiful visuals and a score laced with the classic TD trademark sound. Please, please release the two remaining movement...

An opinion that may prove HUGELY unpopular

After much thought, I've come to the conclusion that Tangerine Dream are at their best without Jerome Froese, but by the same token, Jerome Froese is at his best without Tangerine Dream. Madcap's Flaming Duty beats the hell out of anything TD have done since Jerome joined (tho' Mars Polaris and the ...

From flicking through some of the original Dante online (the English translations), it does seem that the lyrics are pretty much taken directly from existing translations. However, there has been some mucking about, presumably by Ms Acquaye. I still can't make out the chorus of "Chasing The Bad...

Speaking as a rather hardcore fan of the 1970s TD (my introduction to TD was when I got "Zeit" out of the library when I was 15, and to this day it remains my favourite album in the whole world EVER) I honestly feel that "Madcap's Flaming Duty" is the best Tangerine Dream album ...

March 1990. I was 15, and had been getting into Jean Michel Jarre quite a bit. I didn't know of any other people doing electronic instrumental music until I was in the library one day, and came upon an album called "Zeit" by Tangerine Dream. I liked the cover painting, and looked through t...

Klaus played with TD in 1973 (I seem to remember...it's mentioned in KDM's Klaus Schulze discography The Works) for several gigs, whilst Peter was off in Asia...again
I would absolutely give my balls to hear a bootleg of those shows!
