Re: The News About Edgar

Dang, I have been away from this site for far too long. I only read the sad news on this site yesterday. To say I am bummed out is a monumental understatement. How does one put into words how much Edgar's music has meant in one's life? It was like discovering a new continent. While Top 40 radio play...

Re: CODENAME: THE SOLDIER - O.S.T. - A PLEA FOR RELEASE

If the rest of the soundtrack is anything like the main title track (the only piece I have ever heard), then I, too, would welcome a release of The Soldier. As I recall, the film came out near the end of the 1980s, near the tail end of the band's heyday. Some really good sounds came from that era, a...

Re: THIEF on the Criterion Collection

Director William Friedkin will release a newly remastered "Sorcerer" on Blu-Ray on April 14, 2014. It will not be a Criterion Collection edition, but he promises it will feature a commentary and other extras. Hope he has lots to say about TD's phenomenal contribution to the movie, which I ...

Sorcerer film to be remastered, rereleased on DVD

Hey, everyone, It's been a few years, but I'm back on the forum. (Had a few nasty experiences with computer viruses that scared me away from the Internet for a while, along with a period of unemployment -- ouch!) If this topic has been posted elsewhere, forgive me, but I read a couple of months ago ...

The first TD album I ever bought. An instant classic and one of the band's very best works.

Nebulous Dawn (from Zeit). Very creepy. I played this on my front porch on Halloween a long time ago. Scared a little girl who was approaching the house.

Near Dark has some spooky bits, too.

I distinctly remember the Apollo 11 mission. I saw the launch just before I had to ride my bike to my swimming lessons. And on July 20, my 12th birthday, I remember watching the moonwalk while lying on the floor of my bedroom on a small, black-and-white Zenith television set and nursing a minor stom...

Being Human is supposed to debut here in the States on BBC America next weekend. Sounds intriguing. Is it worth devoting my time to it, though?

I'm a Discworld fan, too. Last month, I bought the DVDs of "Wyrd Sisters" and "Soul Music" as well as the live-action "Hogfather." The animated movies are pretty good, though I wish they both had closed captioning. Haven't seen "Hogfather" yet. I also recently...

Autumn is OK, but apart from Trauma, there isn't any single track that "grabs" me, if you know what I mean. It's like a long, meandering symphonic work.

Summer is (so far) the best of the series, and I'm anxiously awaiting the release of Winter.
