I've been looking forward to this one since you announced it Chris. Gert is one of my favorites. He stays in the spin shuffle constantly. I really like "A Boy's World".

Thanks for the great program.

Friends, This is an idle topic.... I can assure you - we all know nothing. Let's accept it. Regards, EINSTEIN'S BARBER (ADMIN) Agreed. I'd rather not refer to anyone's capabilities or contributions. My intention was to acknowledge the beauty and genius of the entire work as a whole. (preaching to t...

One thing Chris Franke must receive credit for is the technical side in the early to mid-70s at least. If you read interviews with Edgar from this period he admits to being a novice and quite happily refers the interviewer to Franke for technical matters. Thanks for the information. I know Baumann ...

Anyone that can build this line from inside their head is a genius to me...

Not as easy as it seems. I'm not sure if it was Franke, Froese or Baumann but I have my suspicions.

Bass line on "Thief" soundtrack

Having listened to "Scrapyard 2008" off of "Choice" cup disk lately I found something I hadn't really noticed before. If I'm correct, the bass line that Chris Franke used throughout several of the tunes off the soundtrack of Michael Mann's "Thief" is essentially the sam...

Thanks 24db. I was reading in a Sound On Sound article about the November 1973 date, but there doesn't seem to be a hard date for the Moog purchase during the Phaedra session. I think the month and year may be enough. According to SOS interview Franke practiced on the moog at a music shop before tak...

TD and Moog Modular

Like heresy I know, but I can't seem to find the date listed when TD bought their Moog Modular. I would like to have the exact date because a popular modular synthesizer manufacturer is making a calendar and wants historic dates to list. In my opinion TD's purchase of the Moog modular was a music in...

This weeks show is a real gem Chris! I am a big Ian Boddy fan. It is great to see his work being added to the ranks. Do you have plans to interview Ian in the future? I, for one would be interested in hearing about his music from his own lips.

Keep up the great work.

A specially good program this week Chris. Longer than normal and full with great new artists. JOE HAFERGUT is a great add. I hope to hear more from him in the podcast again someday.

Thanks again Chris!

I am very much looking forward to the interview with synth.nl

I think his ear is good and he has a unique sense of how (musically) to use the massive amount of gear he owns. Something that seen with the likes of TD and other top artists.

Since I had to retract the Bowie "Heroes", does that give me a second try? How about Nektar "Remember the Future". Quite a unique album that made waves (earthquakes here in the USA). The concert tour in 1975 was an awesome light and sound performance and introduced me to Larry Fa...

I really dig Steve Roach. It would be too short to catagorize him as "New Age" or something. Do a myspace search (as much as I hate to recommend it) and give a listen. I really like "Quiet Music" although it has received pretty torrid reviews - which I find to be a good sign BTW....

"The Gabe" is an all-time favorite. I was lucky to have known the fellow running his mix board for the first tour in the USA and world wide. I got to shake his hand on one of the wireless mic runs through the audience. and my cousing went on the tour with them. He is a genuinly nice guy wi...
